reproduction of art

The mechanical reproduction of art changes (what I believe in  a negative and postive way) the reaction of the a large group of people when it comes to art.  A painting that has been reproduced multiple times and is widely known seems to lose its reactionary quality. The awh factor is removed along with the emotion and enjoyment of the experience of looking at a piece. Being so frequently exposed the social significance is lost, it because just another ordinary image.  I could go on and on with how i completely agree with this point and how it saddens me that the value of art is being lost in this sense…but times are changing, technology is evolving and there is nothing I can do about that. All these images have been posted on the internet for millions to see. In a sense I do appreciate the fact that everything’s just a click away. Want to see a Leonardo painting BAM there it is! But nothing will ever be the same as going to see a piece of art in person, to observe the mark of the artist in person. And no one can ever take that away.
